NEW YEAR´S PARTY 12/01/2012

We organized the first traditional event of the new year, the New Year´s Party, in cooperation with the Dutch Association Nederlandse Vereniging. Also thanks to the great venue, Občanská plovárna, it was a very pleasant and relaxed event. Thank you for being a part of it!

STEAK COOKING LESSON 30/11/2011

This year´s last Cooking Lesson, which took place on 30 November at the andel´s Hotel, was again a true experience. And not only culinary, even though it was mainly about food, of course. But no ordinary food. Steak is simply a magic delicacy!

On Wednesday, 19 October, 2011, the SPEED BUSINESS MEETING was held in the Diplomat Hotel. In 8 short and effective meetings, members of our Chamber met with members of the French-Czech and the Nordic Chambers of Commerce, including some non-member companies.

Fish Cooking Lesson 31/08/2011

Following the success of the Sushi Cooking Lesson in June, another cooking course took place on 31 August at the angelo Hotel. This time, it was all about salmon, which the participants obviously appreciated, so it was again a very relaxed and pleasant event.

On Tuesday, 14 June, we organized the Annual General Meeting in the andel´s Hotel Prague. The participants were informed about activities, management and economy of the Chamber in the previous and upcoming period. They also learned about the main outcomes of the Member Satisfaction Survey and what the Chamber response will be.

On Wednesday, 1 June, in the Žofín Garden, there was the first thematic meeting from the Afternoon Tea series which is organized by the Corporate Responsibility Club within the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce. COMPETITION LAW SEMINAR 14/04/2011

On Thursday, 14 April, in angelo Hotel Prague, we organized the first one of the series of this year’s seminars on up-to-date topics. This seminar was devoted to the topic of competition law which was presented in a very easy and practical way by a top antitrust specialist, Daniel Čekal (partner at Wilson & Partners).

On Thursday, 7 April, in the National Museum of Agriculture, we organized the second common event of several bilateral chambers of commerce, Czech Beer Festival 2011.

Changes on the Board of the NCCC

With regards to the change of his position within ING Bank, Rolf-Jan Zweep has decided to resign from the post of Chairman of the Board of the NCCC. He is succeeded by Elias Drakopoulos, General Manager of Business Lease, who was Vice-Chairman till this time. Steef Klop, Partner at PwC ČR was promoted to the function of the second Vice-Chairman.

Seminar “IMPACT OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT POLICY ON BUSINESS” 19/10/2010

On Tuesday, 19 October, our Chamber and the Netherlands Embassy organized a seminar on impact of the new government policy on business in the Czech Republic. The seminar was a part of the Embassy’s festival NethWorks.cz 2010. The event was held in the Pelleova villa and its participants were then invited to the nearby Residence of the Dutch Ambassador. 

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY CLUB - introductory meeting 07/10/2010, Villa Gröbovka

We present you a brand new initiative in the area of CSR which has been introducted by the company TNT Express. We would like to establish an informal Corporate Responsibility Club consisting of members of our Chamber, and its primary objective would be to create a strong team which will influence development of CSR in the Czech Republic in a positive way.

Flower Power Spring Party 11. 5. 2010

On Tuesday, 11 May we organized the already fourth Flower Power Spring Party, this time again in the Žofín Garden, Prague. Located on one of the islands in the Vltava River, and with its impressive atmosphere and our beautiful flower decoration, it seems to be an ideal venue for celebrating the coming spring.

Prinsjesdag 15. 9. 2009

On Tuesday, 15 September, we celebrated the fifth annual of our traditional event, the Prinsjesdag. It was held at the Malostranske Square, at the Kaiserstejnsky Palace. Just like in the past years, also this year, the Netherlands Ambassador H.E. Jan Lucas van Hoorn summarized the main ideas of the Queen’s speech. This was followed by an amusing lecture of a renowned Dutch psychologist Hans van de Sande, which logged-in members can download (the link is below the article).

Flower Power Spring Party 27. 5. 2009

On Wednesday, 27 May, we celebrated the 3rd annual of our Flower Power Spring Party. The event was extremely successful not only because of its great programme and pleasant spring weather, but especially thanks to a record-breaking number of participants that came to this event of the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce, aimed at corporate social responsibility. The event was supported by Ahold ČR, PricewaterhouseCoopers, G4S Security Services, TNT Express and Royal Netherlands Embassy in Prague.

Project Promoting Good Entrepreneurship 2009 is under way

In the last issue of the Bulletin, we informed you that our Chamber joined the Project Promoting Good Entrepreneurship again this year. The common Project of the Czech Donors Forum and us thus continues with its third year, this time, in addition, strengthened by cooperation with the British Chamber of Commerce, which brought new member companies into the Project.

Round table “Is there light at the end of the tunnel?” 1. 4. 2009

On April 1, 2009, there was a conference "Is there light at the end of the tunnel?" in Diplomat Hotel, organized by the CBL Chamber with the support of our Chamber. The topic was the development and consequences of the economic crisis for the Czech economy. 

Presentation of the Czech Competitiveness Report 18. 3. 2009

On Wednesday, 18 March, there was an official presentation of the Czech Competitiveness Report at Mövenpick Hotel. The event was attended by members of the American, British, German, Netherlands-Czech and Nordic Chambers of Commerce.

Wednesday, 14 January, was devoted to our first big networking event for all members this year, the New Year's Party.

New website of our Chamber

At Christmas 2008, we launched a new website for our members and other visitors. One of the news is a possibility to log in via your login name and password, which enables you to download the Bulletin or invitations to our events, find contacts to member companies, etc. You have received your login and password via e-mail. Rolf-Jan Zweep succeeds Dirk Kroonen as Chairman of the Board

Dirk Kroonen has decided to step aside as Chairman of the Board of Directors of our Chamber as a result of some significant changes in his role at Ernst & Young. He has been appointed COO/CFO responsible for Central and South-Eastern Europe, a region covering some 20 countries. In addition, he is also Tax & Legal Managing Partner for the same region. Because these functions simply take all of his time, he also had to pass over his role as Country Managing Partner of Ernst & Young for the Czech Republic to Magdalena Souček. The Board is very happy that Dirk will stay on as a regular Board Member. The Board has chosen Rolf-Jan Zweep as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce. Rolf-Jan has been a Member of this Board for the past year. He has been in the Czech Republic in the position of CEO ING Bank Czech Republic, and General Manager Wholesale Banking for 4 years. 

Lunch with Prime Minister Balkenende - CANCELLED

The planned lunch with Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende on 12 November had to be cancelled at the last moment. As we understood from the Dutch Embassy, this was due to a change in the program of the Prime Minister, where a cancelled dinner with the Czech Prime Minister had to be substituted by a lunch between the two, thus leading to the cancellation of the lunch with our members. We regret this and apologise to all who wanted to participate.

International Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) - 11. 11. 2008

On Tuesday, 11 November, Donors Forum, our Chamber and the British Chamber, organised a whole day conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at the Municipal House in Prague. The conference had over 150 participants.

Moravian Wine Party & Starobrno Tour in Brno 16. 10. 2008

Autumn was showing us its unkind face when we set out on our journey to Brno on 16 October. The rain was pouring down, but the participants seemed not to worry about it at all, at least not those travelling on a bus chartered by our colleagues from the German Chamber of Commerce, who co-organized the event with us.

Prinsjesdag 16. 9. 2008

On the third Tuesday of September, the 16th, we organised for the fourth time in a row our Prinsjesdag event, this time at the Žofín terraces. The originally planned venue, Municipal House, appeared to be too expensive, after promised discounts were not respected. The Žofín terraces were a good alternative, because of the new participation there of our sponsor and patron member Zátiší Catering Group, enabling them to repeat last year’s success with their superb Indonesian “rijsttafel”.

General Meeting 16. 6. 2008

This year’s Annual General Meeting was held on June16, at the Golf Club Hostivař. The participants were informed about the budgets and activities of the Chamber in 2007 and 2008. A new Board of Directors for the years 2008-2009, as well as the Verification Board to verify the financial administration of 2008, were elected. The delegates agreed on increasing the membership fees as of January 1, 2009. The patron membership will be 75,000 CZK, corporate membership 25,000 CZK and personal membership 8,000 CZK.

Flower Power Spring Party 15. 5. 2008

Last year we initiated our pilot project “Promoting Good Entrepreneurship through NGOs” with an official launch at our new Flower Power Spring Party at the Minorite Monastery of St. James. After having evaluated this pilot project we will continue the project with some slight changes. To inform all interested, we boarded the Golf Yacht, docked on the Vltava at Rohanský Island, on Thursday, 15 May, for our second Flower Power Spring Party. To introduce the concept “corporate social responsibility”, our main speaker Thomas Mershon of the University of Pittsburgh compared the different approaches of American and European companies to the issue, after which Pavlína Kalousová of our partner Forum dárců gave an update of our joint project for this year. Members of the British Chamber of Commerce joined us at this occasion to mark the start of a co-operation on this project of ours.

Roundtable with the Mayor of Brno, Roman Onderka 7. 2. 2008

With regards to extending our activities in Moravia, we joined the event “Roundtable with the Mayor of Brno, Roman Onderka”, organized by the AmCham for members of both Chambers. The meeting was held on 7 February, 2008 in the hotel Holiday Inn Brno.

New Year’s Party 22. 1. 2008

On Thursday, 22 January, we started the New Year with our traditional New Year’s Party. The location, the Knights Hall in hotel Kampa, created the right atmosphere of bygone days in this historical part of Prague in Malá strana, next to the Devils Creek.
