Petr Solský – Business Development Director for Public Administration at Havel & Holásek

Petr Solský (35) has joined Havel & Holásek, the largest law firm in the Czech Republic, to hold the new position of Business Development Director for Public Administration. Petr Solský will be responsible for the firm’s relations with public administration bodies and business development in the field of public administration. Petr Solský joins Havel & Holásek after seven years spent in Brussels, where he worked for the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union.

Petr Solský started to work for the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, headed by the Czech ambassador to Brussels, Pavel Telička, in 2003. He was responsible for the justice agenda and represented the Czech Republic in the relevant committees of the Council of the EU and the European Commission. In 2008, he was appointed Head of the Justice and Home Affairs Unit of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, which was responsible for coordinating the preparation and course of the Czech Presidency of the EU in 2009, including the preparation of meetings of the Councils of Ministers for justice and home affairs. Before moving to Brussels, Petr Solský worked at the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic as the head of a unit in charge of the organization and coordination of the 2002 NATO Summit in Prague. He also dealt with matters such as financial crime, the fight against corruption and organized crime, and witness protection.

Petr Solský graduated from the Masaryk University Faculty of Law in Brno. He speaks fluent English, French and German. His hobbies include sports and travel.
