What is CSR?
Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) is defined as the voluntary activities undertaken by a company to operate in an economic, social and environmentally sustainable manner. There are many other CSR definitions and understandings of the principles. The companies can take an advantage of both local and global opportunities. There is an increasing understanding that incorporation of responsible business practices into investments and operations can benefit the economies and communities, make good business sense.
The OECD Guidelines
for Multinational Enterprises set out the principles and standards for responsible business conduct expected by the governments of the Czech Republic, Netherlands and 44 other countries from multinational enterprises to observe. The Guidelines help companies deal with matters such as responsible supply chain management, human rights, child labour and environment.
National Contact Points (NCP) set by OECD
Netherlands – The Secretariat
of the members of the NCP is based as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
CSR in NCCC
In 2010, Netherlands-Czech Chamber of Commerce established an exchange platform for our members to share their experience and best practices on CSR topics, also to cooperate with external experts. See Corporate Responsibility Club (CRC) and CRC events calendar for more info. We want to see the CSR principles working in real life. That was the reason we started to communicate and Help each other.
We all need to keep in mind that CSR is voluntary and not only Corporate Responsibility but it is Personal Responsibility of all of us to keep our environment, business and human relationships sustainable.
We would like to thank our members and partners for being responsible, eventhough many companies and individuals do not present their behaviour as Corporate Social Responsibility but simply act responsibly.
Please, contact Klara Řeznicková, firstname.lastname@example.org
if you have any questions, thematic ideas, media or speakers recommendations. We would like to cooperate with other CSR experts and publish our activities via Media Partners
